FLASHPOINT for Oct 07, 2006
Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006 | 7:56 a.m.
He has been a fixture on Friday nights for so long no one can remember when he first started saying those familiar words: "Welcome to Nevada Week in Review." In fact, he never even introduces himself. And now he is saying goodbye. Sort of. Mitch Fox, the host of the public TV show, has informed his bosses that he is going to take a buyout and retire early. Sort of. He has almost 30 years in the retirement system and has some other opportunities he might want to pursue. He is departing Dec. 1, and his KLVX superiors are begging him to stay on and continue to host the show. I wish him only the best and hope that he does continue to host the program. Giving anyone else a hard time just won't be the same.
