Letter: Clinton interview exposes Bush’s failures

In his Sept. 30 letter, Sam Pizzo accuses former President Bill Clinton of selective memory when it comes to dealing with Osama bin Laden. He suggests that President Clinton should look into a mirror and ask the question: Did I do "enough in eight years to stop Osama bin Laden?" But President Clinton answered that question. President Clinton freely admitted that he tried to get bin Laden and failed.

The al-Qaida 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center cost nearly 3,000 American lives. What has President Bush done in response? The Taliban (defenders of al-Qaida) have been overthrown in Afghanistan. Iraq has been invaded and Saddam Hussein - an individual with absolutely no connection to al-Qaida or 9/11 - has been overthrown. To date this has cost nearly another 3,000 American lives. And what do we have to show for this?

The Taliban are making a comeback in Afghanistan, and Iraq is on the verge of an all-out civil war. And just in case some may have forgotten, Osama bin Laden remains at large. Al-Qaida is still considered the largest threat to the United States.

Thanks to Fox News' Chris Wallace, President Clinton was afforded the opportunity to acknowledge his failure and bring into the light the failure of President Bush.
