So why would a former Democratic U.S. senator and Democratic congresswoman come to Henderson today for a campaign event? Are Richard Bryan and Shelley Berkley coming to stump for congressional hopeful Tessa Hafen? Perhaps they will give Hafen, who apparently is from out of state, a tour of the city? No, thats not it. Are they coming to City Hall to do a debt-retirement fundraiser for Mayor Jim Gibson? No, not that, either. Would you believe they are coming to help a City Council hopeful announce her candidacy? Gerri Schroder is running in 2007 for the seat being vacated by Amanda Cyphers. Her announcement might get lost in the Campaign 06 hubbub. But maybe Berkley and Bryan can get their friend a headline. Maybe.
