Letter: Illegal immigrants should go back home
Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006 | 7:05 a.m.
Personally I am sick and tired of everyone lamenting that we all came from immigrants. We did, but we come from legal immigrants. We came through Ellis Island where we were checked for illnesses, criminal records, sponsors (so we did not end up homeless on the street or on public assistance) and most had jobs waiting for them.
There were also limits for each country so we did not take in more people than our resources could handle.
We also did not have to worry about terrorists sneaking in through our borders to destroy our country.
Other countries have rigid laws to protect them from illegals. Why not us?
Illegal in my dictionary reads unlawful - how does yours read? Any way you slice it, it's criminal to break the laws of our country.
No wonder the youth of our country is out of control - it has no respect for adults or a country that does not uphold any principles or the law.
Let them go back to their own country and clean it up, and they can speak any language they want to.
We have worked and fought hard for the privileges we have in this country, and they are taking it away from us. They march in our streets and clog our courts demanding their rights. Hello! They have no rights; They are illegals!
