Letter: Nevada stays one step behind rest of nation
Monday, Nov. 13, 2006 | 7:35 a.m.
Election Day certainly brought Americans both good news and bad news, didn't it?
The bad news, of course, was the barely missed golden opportunity to elect two outstanding, intelligent and hardworking women, Dina Titus and Tessa Hafen, as our next governor and as our next representative to Congress. Nevada may now very well remain, as Titus said during her campaign, "on the top of every bad list and on the bottom of every good list."
But the good news is the wonderful Democratic sweep placing Democrats in control of the House and Senate.
Loyal Americans want our representatives to demand the return of our courageous troops from the Bush administration's "all about oil" war in Iraq. National health care and help for the homeless are also high on the priority list.
Patriotic Americans are watching, and hoping, for positive change.
