Letter: Media can take steps to curb negative ads

The election is over and thank goodness. At least the thank-you speeches were positive and the winners were cordial to the losers.

Negative ads were numerous both on the local and national level and the stench the voters had to endure was almost unbearable. What can be done to get past the negativity?

The answer, actually, is simple. The media, en masse, should join together and refuse any negative ad. This would end the trash that enters our homes every two years.

Those running for office have to get their messages to the voter. If all media stood firm on this, only the positive would be accentuated.
