Letter: Beware of serving two masters

If you mix politics and religion, keep in mind that people who become disaffected with the politics may also reject the religion that espoused it. It's quite natural for a politician to want to hijack religion - it's a very powerful tool.

A religion, on the other hand, should be wary of putting its adherents under the social obligation of serving two masters. One may be divine, the other (by nature) is quite likely the opposite! No political agenda should ever trump eternal religious principles.
