Letter: This voter not impressed by video peekaboo

Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 | 7:22 a.m.

An unverified video of the alleged incident involving Jim Gibbons and Chrissy Mazzeo is as much help to me as another flimflam, unverified campaign commercial. This voter says, "No thanks!"

On Nov. 1, a Review-Journal editorial thanked Judge Herndon for ordering the release of copies of parking garage unverified video (so-called evidence) to three attorneys. The editorial said, " in fact there's no reason for the police to withhold this evidence from the public " The editorial cited "the voting public's right to know "

On the same day, the Sun discussed information from security experts on video tampering. One "method is for someone to set a false time and date on the video recorder and then simply make a new tape of the garage." Thank you, Sun, for your evenhanded, in-depth reporting.

First there was no video. Now there is. This is a peekaboo video: now you don't see it, now you do. It might impress babies, but not voters.
