FLASHPOINT for May 29, 2006

In case you missed it, the campaign season officially has begun as TV ads are starting to pop up. I know, I know -- you've seen all the signs cluttering the streets, turning bad drivers into accidents waiting to happen. But with sheriff's hopeful Jerry Airola promising on TV to stop crime in Clark County and with gubernatorial contender Jim Gibson on the air promoting a plan to fix the public school system, it's time to start feeling good about life again. Oh, not because Airola can stop criminals from being criminals or because Gibson can fully fund education and bring Nevada out of the cellar. But if the positive ads have started, that means the negative spots are just around the corner. Get ready.
