Letter: Whining about 2000 election is tiresome

I can't believe Margaret Carlson's column published in the Sun's May 24 edition. After six years, she is still crying about Al Gore's loss in the election of 2000. She says he won the popular vote. This means nothing.
In the past, several other candidates for president have won the popular vote and lost the election. The popular votes don't get anyone elected. Only the electoral votes count. Then she says that had the Florida votes been counted, he would have won. Come on.
All the Florida votes were counted, some two or three times. After the election news agencies from all over the world went in there and counted and recounted and recounted, never did anyone say that Al Gore should have won. Talk about beating a dead horse!
