FLASHPOINT for May 25, 2006

So a few weeks ago the American Gaming Association announced it supports a study of Internet gaming. This came after years of paralysis on the issue because of a division among member casinos. But now that the frontier appears too vast to ignore, a study seems a good first step while the gamers get ready for a takeover of cyberspace. So, following in line, Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-AGA), Rep. Jon Porter (R-AGA) and Rep. Jim Gibbons (R-AGA) this week introduced the Internet Gambling Study Commission Act. Porter, who faces a race with Tessa Hafen, sent out the release announcing the move, but Gibbons, running for governor, was allowed a quote to suck up to the masters. Ain't that sweet?
