Maybe I have underestimated Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt. I didn't expect her to be a factor in the governor's race - and if you ask most observers, they didn't expect the crooner-turned-politician to make much noise, either. But she is doing her best Ethel Merman right now. She has deposited $800,000 in a campaign account. And if she spends it, Jim Gibbons will have to spend some, too. She also has taken to pummeling Gibbons in every venue, including the state GOP convention. Now she is hectoring him for a very good cause - debates. There is even talk of a cardboard cutout of the congressman. Hunt is not going down without a fight, so she will either bruise Gibbons, wound him or, if she's lucky, kill him.
