FLASHPOINT for May 21, 2006
Sunday, May 21, 2006 | 7:38 a.m.
It's an interesting mesh of gubernatorial and legislative politics. State Sen. Barbara Cegavske, who once had a nasty feud with colleague Bob Beers, recently hosted a meet and greet for her fellow state senator and gubernatorial hopeful. Serving Beers in Cegavske's home - who would have guessed? Contrast that with Tim Cory, her primary challenger in a key Senate race, who sent a check to Rep. Jim Gibbons, whom Beers has been pounding. So one state Senate contender has endorsed Beers and another has embraced Gibbons. Besides any reciprocal help that might be forthcoming, the real question is how effective Cegavske or Cory might be in 2007 if the man they support doesn't become governor?
