FLASHPOINT for May 20, 2006
Saturday, May 20, 2006 | 7:30 a.m.
Poor Kenny Guinn. Nevada's Republican governor just can't get any respect from the Nevada GOP. He's been called a RINO (Republican In Name Only) by the faithful because of the Great Tax Increase of 2003. And some have never accepted him as a true Republican. Now, the state GOP can't even get his name right. In a news release this week boasting about the Bush administration's supposedly salutary impact on the economy, party boss Paul Adams declared: "Republican Governor Tony Guinn, and President Bush have provided a low-tax, pro-growth environment that keeps Nevadans working and our revenue base healthy." Poor Tony. Or Kenny. I bet he can't wait to leave office.
