FLASHPOINT for May 10, 2006

Guess who needs help? The TASCers, that's who. "TASC is currently looking for people to collect signatures for the TASC petition and help give taxpayers a say in what we pay!" says a recent plea from the Tax and Spending Control folks who want to limit spending and taxing through the Constitution. I assume the publicity the Bob Beers gubernatorial campaign is giving the initiative is not sufficient. It's inconceivable that such a popular plan could not qualify for the ballot, isn't it? It's so appealing, so simple, so conservative. Why would you need to advertise for volunteers? Why would you beg people to forward the e-mail pitch to friends and acquaintances? Oops, I hope I didn't just help them.
