FLASHPOINT for May 09, 2006

Tuesday, May 9, 2006 | 7:33 a.m.

Of all the lines I have read in recent news releases, many of them from campaigns, the most jaw-dropping one came Monday from the American Gaming Association: "The typical U.S. Internet gambler is under 40, college-educated, male and more affluent than his fellow citizens, according to results of a new survey of online gamblers ..." Wait a second. So the AGA paid for a survey that said Web users are young, better-educated and richer than most Americans? If there is someone out there who didn't know that, please click on the AGA's Web site and inform the group. And if you are not rich enough or young enough or well educated enough to be on the Internet, send the AGA a letter.
