Letter: Negative to send money to Mexico?

Once in a while I read or hear in the news media about immigrants sending money to Mexico, and usually with what seems a negative attitude. It would be interesting to know how those folks arrive at those conclusions and if they can quote amounts and methods.

By the same token, can they research how much of the profits for Toyota and Honda from the United States are sent to Japan? How much Hyundai profits from the United States go to South Korea? How much from Mercedes profits in the United States go to Germany?

Additionally, I wonder how many of those folks purchase foreign-made products instead of American brands when the options are available.

As for my family, we purchase American brands as much as possible, particularly automobiles, even if my Buick LeSabre has many parts made in Canada and Mexico!
