The portents for a very strange season are here after only two days of filing. The Polish Maverick, Bob Stupak, and his ex-girlfriend, erstwhile Councilwoman Janet Moncrief, are in the same race - for lieutenant governor. Regent Thalia Dondero filed - and then unfiled - for an Assembly seat. A guy named Bob Beers is running for governor and another guy named Bob Beers is running for the Assembly. Ex-legislators are running for public administrator. Impeached Controller Kathy Augustine tells a Northern Nevada reporter she might not file for treasurer, after all. What's next? Gov. Kenny Guinn announces for County Commission? Something tells me the looniest developments are yet to come.
