FLASHPOINT for Mar 31, 2006
Friday, March 31, 2006 | 7:10 a.m.
It was eerie seeing Erin Kenny on Thursday. Not up on the County Commission dais, wildly animated and whispering in her colleagues' ears. But subdued and contrite on the stand in a federal courtroom, ratting out former friends Dario Herrera and Mary Kincaid-Chauncey in the G-Sting trial. It was sad, poignant and sickening. The most telling line was when Kenny was asked about asking commission supplicants for work and she said, matter-of-factly: "No one was willing to give me up as a vote." That is, why put her on the payroll and force her to abstain when she was so reliable? Ironically, she now admits that for Mike Galardi, she was reliable and didn't abstain because no one knew she was taking money. Until now.
