A campaign against a bureaucrat? Well-known auto-dial merchant Tony Dane (of Janet Moncrief fame) has a recorded call going that accuses County Manager Thom Reilly of trying to make the recorder's office appointed and "his rationale is that the voters are too stupid to select a qualified person to that position." It also says Reilly has "disrupted the county recorder's office at a time when they are processing more documents, faster and more efficiently than ever before and it has never gone over budget." It refers to Reilly as a "power-hungry manager" and urges folks to call commissioners. Sounds like Recorder Fran Deane. But she insists she has no knowledge of the calls. I bet she loves the message, though.
