FLASHPOINT for Mar 26, 2006

Now here's an idea that's floating around that might cause some discomfort for people I know and people I work for: Some folks are talking about a law that would force media companies to disclose all their business partners. This is coming in the wake of KVBC-TV boss Jim Rogers and his political activism on many different fronts and the disclosure of Sun boss Brian Greenspun's dealings with controversial developer Bill Walters. I am sure there are those lawmakers and lobbyists out there who would like to stick a thumb in the eye of Rogers or Greenspun. But the question that comes to mind is reminiscent of that old one about the mice and the bell: Who will put it around the cat's neck?
