Letter: Treating teachers better behooves us all

When you can't recruit enough teachers, you are being sent messages:

1. You are not offering enough money. Teachers are the most intelligent people in our society; when they discover they will lose financially, they will not come to Vegas;

2. Don't continue with the status quo. Find out why teachers are unhappy with their profession or why they are resigning ... and make changes! I suspect the great majority of teachers love their profession, but find that students in Clark County are disrespectful and have no desire to learn.
