Letter: GOP so bad, Democrats don’t need a strategy

The Sun's March 10 cover story by Benjamin Grove described scattered rumblings that the Democratic Party needs to unveil a substantive, detailed program of its own some time soon. I disagree. Right now the focus is right where it needs to be: On the utter incompetence and moral bankruptcy of the GOP at the national level, i.e., the president and the GOP-controlled Congress. That is the message.
The GOP "Big Lie" machine is just waiting for the Dems to introduce their own initiatives so that they can attack them with half-truths and bald-faced lies. I say the Democratic leadership should continue to let the national Republicans stew in their own juices. It should be becoming obvious that anyone with a pulse, a conscience and half a brain can do a better job governing than Bush, Frist and company.
