It begins today - Bob Beers' dream come true and a night- mare for many groups. The Tax and Spending Initiative folks commence signature gathering today with a celebration at the Clark County Government Building. The grand event on Grand Central Parkway will feature a smiling (my guess) gubernatorial hopeful Beers, who has retained professional signature-gatherers from Sacramento for the effort. But Beers & Co. know that the delay tactics are not over, only suspended until the inevitable qualification of the initiative. Then more lawsuits will be filed, and judges will be put on the spot. Throwing it off the ballot could be political death - and a few Supreme Court justices are running this year.
