UNLV presidents' jobs haven't been easy

Moehring has written a book on UNLV history's in honor of its 50th anniversary. The book is coming out next year as part of the yearlong celebration.

DUI project collides with law
The Clark County District Attorney's Serious Offender Program has taken up to 250 repeat DUI offenders. People with two prior convictions for driving under the influence and a third case pending are eligible. People with an extensive criminal history or a DUI conviction in which there was death or substantial bodily harm are not eligible.

Kenny is a great guy and may have been a better quarterback - and a better dancer - had his offensive lineman had better feet.

There are some roles that women should be barred from, for their own good and for the good of the unit. In general, women can't compete with men physically. When women are allowed into physically demanding roles, usually it isn't based on their merit (as compared to men), but instead to satisfy a quota or political pressure.

According to a story in Tuesday's Las Vegas Sun, resident Gail Sacco is heading to Las Vegas Municipal Court on March 20 because her practice of feeding homeless people in Circle Park violates a Las Vegas ordinance that prohibits gatherings of more than 25 people without a permit.
Letter: Bad drivers make roads dangerous
Interstate 15 going to and from California was widened, with a median strip, and we still have accidents occurring because of motorists who believe rules of the road are made for others.

County planning officials in February tabled a proposal that would have placed an 18-month moratorium on the practice of buying mobile home parks and closing them for redevelopment. State law requires that park owners buy displaced residents' mobile homes or pay their relocation costs. But many residents say the amounts paid don't begin to cover mortgages or actual moving costs. And they fear ending up homeless.
