Does anyone really believe President Bush has a vision to lead us to energy independence? Years ago, when he could have done something meaningful on that front he failed, as usual, to do the right thing. His energy bill did nothing to require that sport utility vehicles and trucks get better gas mileage. Now that he is in deep doo-doo he wants to recast himself as the energy guy. What a phony!
Ford and General Motors are going down because they failed to anticipate the future and built the wrong kinds of cars. Americans who bought them will also take the fall. SUVs are transportation on steroids that not only look ridiculous, but they also have to be bad for your back as you haul yourself in and out of them.
Send in the crane to unload the groceries and the old lady.
