Letter: Enough is enough; time to leave Iraq
Friday, June 30, 2006 | 7:37 a.m.
Regarding James J. Poupard's June 21 letter, "Americans should be outraged by war": I completely agree with the assessment Mr. Poupard made of the utter chaos in Iraq.
What in God's name is it going to take to convince the American people that enough is enough? We have over 2,500 GIs dead, thousands seriously wounded and disabled, and God knows how many Iraqis are dead.
This carnage is directly due to the stupidity, arrogance and stubbornness of the worst president in U.S. history - George W. Bush. His justifications for going to war with Iraq have proved to be completely false or lies, and his stay-the-course doctrine is insane. We could be in Iraq forever! Or until all our troops are dead.
It is high time for the American people to say enough is enough, now!
