Letter: Another way to look at ‘cut and run’
Friday, June 30, 2006 | 7:37 a.m.
Like those people who can't be hypnotized, I am immune to the Karl Rove strategy of mischaracterizing the opponents' stance.
Yes, I am an advocate of "cut and run." I'd like to see the United States drastically cut the number of young men and women killed and maimed in Iraq. I'd like to cut the billions of dollars of taxpayer dollars wasted there. And, I'd like to cut the crap I hear every day from the Bush apologists, super patriots and Fox News' army of right-wing spin doctors.
I'd like to see this country run by people who really care about security, jobs, health care, education and rebuilding our infrastructure.
I'm also immune to the distraction of the nonissue. So, if Fox News does a story on a brain-dead flag burner attending a gay wedding where there is no mention of God, I'll be grabbing my remote.
