A story in the Sun on June 18 incorrectly reported that Nevada Republican Rep. Jon Porter "declined to be interviewed" about his views on the Iraq war. The story should have said that over a period of almost 24 hours, the Sun engaged in multiple e-mail exchanges with the congressman's office requesting an interview. Each time, the congressman's staff replied that he was too busy to comment. Porter's office did provide written remarks he had submitted during House debate over the war, and those comments were included in the story.
