Thursday, June 22, 2006 | 7:13 a.m.
Above, Tyler Newman, 10, competes in a course where, among other things, UNLV youth football campers had to run around the cone while keeping both hands on the ground. At right, 13-year-old Jaron Olson runs through a course manned by UNLV graduate assistants Kirk Wherritt, left, and Mike Sanford Jr., during Wednesday's camp at UNLV. Staffers simulated defensive blows with large pads. Children from first through eighth grades are learning football fundamentals at the camp, which runs through Friday.
