FLASHPOINT for Jun 22, 2006
Thursday, June 22, 2006 | 7:12 a.m.
I admit it's a desperate plan to escape the midsummer Southern Nevada scorchers. No, not Hawaii. How about Carson City, where the luxurious Carson Station awaits and where history is redolent? Don't look now but the chances of a special session to consider how to pay that $10.3 million state construction judgment may happen. Oh, the governor won't want it (but he may have no choice). State lawmakers, many of whom don't want to stop raising money, don't want it. But we in the media, especially the southern Fourth Estaters, we want it. We are the only people who think Carson City is fun. Well, maybe some lobbyists, who could scare their clients into paying them for a few days, might want it, too.
