So Tessa Hafen, erstwhile press secretary to Sen. Harry Reid, is in Washington this week trying to drum up support - i.e., money - for her campaign against Rep. Jon Porter. From all reports, she is doing pretty well. But Porter doesn't seem fazed yet by her candidacy. In fact, by the end of the week, he was not singing the blues about Hafen but singing rock 'n' roll at the White House. The Associated Press reports Porter and his congressional bandmates of the Second Amendments entertained the president and others at the annual congressional picnic. "We got some people who can play music and some people who think they can play music," the president said. I hear Porter can play - and I am not just talking politics.
