Letter: Road construction in Vegas is poorly timed
Friday, June 16, 2006 | 7:23 a.m.
Is it in the best interests of all Las Vegans to do 50 road repairs/construction at the same time? Wouldn't it be better to put as many crews on some projects and finish them faster, thereby inconveniencing people for the shortest time period?
If my name was Bruce Woodbury I would ask that my name be removed from the "beltway." As I go from Aliante Parkway to Durango Drive and back each day, why are the lights timed such that I just get up to speed and then have to stop again?
In at least 300 trips, I have only made the lights at Decatur Boulevard, Bradley Road, Jones Boulevard and both sides of the overpass for U.S. 95 three times. Does someone in charge of the light timing have oil company stock?
