Letter: Defend marriage by outlawing divorce?
Monday, June 12, 2006 | 7:22 a.m.
As Congress was unable to agree on a "Defense of Marriage" amendment to the Constitution after a time-wasting three-day debate, I have an alternative solution for them to consider.
In order for our government to truly "defend" marriage, why not have a constitutional amendment outlawing divorce? Oh, and for good measure, let's make adultery a federal crime. Sounds like a defense of marriage to me!
