We are going to see some ridiculous news releases from candidates. That is a given. But County Commission hopeful and School Board member Susan Brager set the early bar with her attack Tuesday on incumbent Lynette Boggs McDonald for saying she did not want the police union endorsement she had coveted in the past. Brager claimed that Boggs McDonald's "ethical missteps" explained the snub. She mentioned an ethics complaint against Boggs McDonald for using her influence to save her husband's state job. But the incumbent was cleared, and Brager did say the real reason the cops embraced her: Labor is out to kill Boggs McDonald. Or maybe it was the School Board member's tough-on-crime record.
