Letter: Water Authority’s plan too costly
Monday, June 5, 2006 | 7:18 a.m.
Be it known that the Southern Nevada Water Authority is now embarking on the most costly water transportation project in history. The plan is to tap into underground aquifers in rural White Pine, Lincoln and Clark counties, then pipe it to Las Vegas.
As taxpayers, it is your right and duty to ask your elected officials (senators, congressmen, assemblymen and county commissioners) a few important questions.
This may seem like a trivial matter now, but your grandchildren will thank you.
Steven A. Bobo, Indian Springs
Editor's note: The writer is president of the Indian Springs Civic Association, which has opposed the Southern Nevada Water Authority's application to take water from the Three Lakes Valley. The views expressed, however, are his own.
