The significance of Nevada being second only to Iowa in the presidential selection process starting next cycle has been lost on some folks - including some media outlets. This is a huge development for the state and will result in increased national attention, hundreds of thousands of dollars in ad revenue for TV stations and a massive suck-up tour of the state by Democratic White House hopefuls. Get ready for all the contortions on Yucca Mountain (sound science, I say!) and all the genuflecting to labor (right to work, what right to work?). Suddenly national candidates are not just going to say to Nevada, "Show me the money," as they troll for campaign cash. Now they want our votes, too.
