Letter: Bush’s lies paid for in American lives
Sunday, July 16, 2006 | 7:49 a.m.
There is a time-honored axiom that goes, "You reap what you sow." This fits President George W. Bush to a tee. With his Texas bullhorn cowboy diplomacy, we are seeing the fruits of his incompetency.
He blasted Iraq, Iran and North Korea with his sophomoric statement the "Axis of Evil," a statement that is coming home to roost squarely at the White House doorstep.
Today, the Middle East is on the brink of all-out war, and we have a civil war in Iraq. Iran is blasting back at the Bush regime, and North Korea is launching missiles. Bush has so decimated the military we don't seem to have enough to even threaten an invasion of either Iran or North Korea. And if he thinks that use of nuclear weapons is the solution, then prepare yourself for World War III and the collapse of our country as we know it.
If he uses nuclear weapons, you can forget about worrying about your job security, your stock portfolio and the value of your real estate.
Bush, and Bush alone, has turned the world against us so badly that it will take some generations to turn it around.
I am extremely surprised that there isn't a cry of outrage to impeach Bush, who lied us into the disaster in Iraq, getting almost 2,600 GIs killed and almost 19,000 of them wounded.
When President Clinton lied about sex and was impeached, his lie did not get one single American killed or wounded.
