John Katsilometes catches comedic star on KKLZ talking about new sitcom

The KKLZ 96.3-FM morning radio team is irascible enough without tossing Louie DePalma into the mix, but Jim Tofte, Kahuna and Dennis Mitchell invited the man who once inhabited the DePalma character, Danny DeVito, to the local airwaves on Thursday morning.

While promoting his FX sitcom, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," DeVito unveiled the following:

Made official Thursday was that the Killers' new album has indeed been titled "Sam's Town," with a song paying tribute to the Boulder Highway hotel-casino that sits near the boyhood home of vocalist Brandon Flowers. There are no trademark-infringement worries for the band, and the locals-friendly hotel should benefit from some unexpected publicity (the album should debut in Billboard's top 10). As Boyd Gaming Director of Entertainment Terry Jenkins said Thursday, "We are happy that when the Killers think of Las Vegas, they think of Sam's Town." The album will be released Oct. 3 ... Prior to Wednesday night's press preview of "Shag With a Twist," the new midnight show at Krave (which is conjoined with the Desert Passage mall at the Aladdin), Executive Producer John Good said some people have told him the show might be "too smart" for Las Vegas. Funny thing to say about an eye-candy production featuring an overactive actor wearing a monkey suit (and requisite fez). The show is inspired by the hip mid-century paintings of Josh "Shag" Agle, and if pastel-colored retro fashions and giant Styrofoam wigs tickle your fancy, check it out ... The profile of Andre Agassi, written by the always outstanding Gary Smith, in this week's Sports Illustrated leads with a powerful black-and-white photo of Agassi taken by his wife, Steffi Graf ... Spotted on Horizon Ridge was a campaign sign for incumbent Regent Mark Alden, with a black peace sign painted in the middle of "Mark" and "Alden," an irony for a man who has spoken his peace - er, piece for much of his career ... On Saturday tickets go on sale for one of the year's most entertaining events, Aid for AIDS in Nevada's (AFAN's) Black & White Party. General admission tickets for the Aug. 26 event are $45. Go to www.afanlv.org, call 382-2326 or visit the AFAN office at 230 0 S. Rancho Drive, Suite 211. This year marks the event's 20th anniversary ... Valet attendants at Harrah's are making good on the promise depicted on the royal blue T-shirts they have been wearing for about a month, stating that cars will be returned to their owners in five minutes ... Details have not been announced just yet, but the outstanding Las Vegas Tenors have found a home at the Suncoast Showroom, where they are expected to perform weekly in September. The Tenors - Bill Fayne, Mark Giovi, Bobby Black, and Teddy Davey borrow from Bon Jovi and Andrew Lloyd Webber with equal aptitude ... Tonight rap icon LL Cool J (that stands for Ladies Love Cool James, kids) hits Tao for a post-concert party following his performance at Sunset Station. LL Cool J follows Mena Suvari, who partied at Tao (not Pure, as errantly noted here) on Thursday ... Back to Jenkins of Boyd Gaming: He remarked Thursday that one Saturday morning he was approached in a Wal-Mart parking lot by a physician who introduced herself as a doctor. Jenkins was momentarily confused until the woman pointed out his license plate, ENT GUY, which means "entertainment guy" to him, but meant "ear, nose and throat guy" to this health care professional.
