ARTS NOTES

Israeli glass artist Jeremy Langford will be in Las Vegas next month to survey sites for a project.
He is best known for contemporary sculptures in the Western Wall tunnel in Jerusalem. Those Kotel sculptures, created with Eliav Nahlieli, are carved from stacks of glass and represent Jewish history. They were designed to draw young tourists to the sacred wall.
Langford also has created glass art - including stained-glass windows - for U.S. and Israeli synagogues.
His spokesman, Steve Carpey, wouldn't give details of the project in Las Vegas except to say it would be a "very high-profile project intended to showcase one of his monumental stacked and carved glass sculptures."

Popular writer Laurell K. Hamilton will be at the Clark County Library theater at 7 tonight to discuss "Danse Macabre," the latest novel in her Anita Blake vampire hunter series. The Clark County Library is at 1401 E. Flamingo Road. For information, call 507-3400 or visit www.laurellkhamilton.org.
