ARTS NOTES

Israeli glass artist Jeremy Langford will be in Las Vegas next month to survey sites for a project.

He is best known for contemporary sculptures in the Western Wall tunnel in Jerusalem. Those Kotel sculptures, created with Eliav Nahlieli, are carved from stacks of glass and represent Jewish history. They were designed to draw young tourists to the sacred wall.

Langford also has created glass art - including stained-glass windows - for U.S. and Israeli synagogues.

His spokesman, Steve Carpey, wouldn't give details of the project in Las Vegas except to say it would be a "very high-profile project intended to showcase one of his monumental stacked and carved glass sculptures."
