FLASHPOINT for Jul 13, 2006
Thursday, July 13, 2006 | 7:24 a.m.
If there is a more reliable source of humor than a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce news release, I don't know what it would be. There were a couple of howlers in Wednesday's release opposing the minimum wage initiative, including a mindless letter to Sen. Harry Reid asking him to change a position the group knows he won't change. The first paragraph fretted about the initiative's "negative affect." That's "effect," chamberites. And then this: "In an open letter to Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., LVCC Vice President of Public Affairs Christina Dugan urged the congressman to reconsider his position on Ballot Question 6." Congressman? Here's a suggestion: Hire a proofreader. But pay more than minimum wage.
