Letter: Have Democrats forgotten 9/11?
Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 | 8:07 a.m.
The Democrats claim to represent the best interests of Americans while doing all in their power to do exactly opposite of this.
The Patriot Act is designed to protect all Americans, both Democrats and Republicans, yet the Democrats in Congress do all they can to deny this protection. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., even brags of this action. Have they all forgotten 9/11?
The Democrats in Congress claim that President Bush, by having the National Security Agency protect Americans, is guilty of some (imagined) crime. No matter that past presidents used these same type of actions, Bush stands condemned. Again, has 9/11 been forgotten?
A president is allowed to nominate a person (qualified) to fill certain offices. When Bush nominates any person, the Democrats in Congress do all they can to either stall, delay or deny such an appointment. No matter how well qualified the nominated person is, if that person does not totally endorse the Democratic Party line, then they do not qualify for any position. Have they lost their senses?
Our Social Security program is in trouble -- big trouble. Bush set forth a plan to not only correct the problems Social Security faces but also set forth a plan that would result in a partial ownership of money withheld. Not only did the Democrats speak out against this fix, they refused to offer a plan of their own. Does anyone see concern for the "average Joe" here?
