Letter: Too much hot air over airplane noise
Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 | 9:11 a.m.
All this noise over where the airplanes fly! All of the elitists in Summerlin are actually making more noise than the planes themselves.
I live in the area that a pilot called the "spaghetti bowl" of flight paths, Rainbow Boulevard and Blue Diamond Road, where the roads (or lack thereof) are much more dangerous and noisy than what flies overhead.
I've learned that my area is overwhelmed with flights that need to turn right, thereby provoking residents up in Summerlin.
Let the air traffic stay here! I don't ever notice them. True.
Maybe my house is so well built that I don't hear them, but I doubt it. I just don't hear them. I see them, if I go out and look. And, yes, I grill out of doors all summer and have yet to miss any interesting conversation due to an overhead buzz.
The air traffic is OK by me as it goes unnoticed by my ears. Nope, I'm not deaf, but I feel that there are certain elected officials with a deaf ear that they are turning toward problems that plague us certain constituents when it suits them.
Roger, over and out.
