Letter: Nadelstern is best pick to lead schools
Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006 | 8:43 a.m.
It's obvious to someone such as myself, who taught school for 20-plus years in Michigan, Ohio and California, that the best superintendent for the Clark County School District would be Eric Nadelstern.
Even when there were six candidates, his resume stood out. Why? He is the only one who emphasizes what happens in the classroom between students and teachers. The classroom and the individual schools are the most important entity in the entire system.
Principals need more autonomy. Teachers need to be paid more. Let's get our priorities straight and hire someone who knows best how to reform our educational system. The status quo won't cut it.
