Editorial: Bert the Turtle, post-9/11: Before 9/11 such scenes were recalled with amused nostalgia. Today, however, with terrorism a continuing threat, it is a serious matter to prepare children as well as adults for sudden emergencies. The Department of Homeland Security recognizes this and is getting ready to launch a program called "Ready Kids."

Editorial: Ogling Google's user records: Google has refused to turn over the information requested in the subpoena, which was issued last year and seeks a wide range of data, including 1 million random Web addresses and records of all Google searches for any one-week period.
