Letter: Smokers don’t need more advice
Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 | 8:12 a.m.
The purpose of this letter is to comment on the ridiculous statements/requests from Portia Hamlar -- in her Jan. 10 letter headlined, "This nonsmoker won't be returning" -- on secondhand smoke while visiting our fair city.
In the first place, one should be cognizant of the fact that there will be smoking within the casinos in Las Vegas ... this is "Sin City," for crying out loud!
They have nonsmoking areas in a lot of the casinos, but, no, it's more fun for complainers such as Hamlar to irritate us locals with her complaining behavior. There are already sufficient restrictions for smokers and we don't need her comments or suggestions to further infringe upon what few rights we have left.
So, Hamlar can please do us a favor and adhere to her plan of never returning to Vegas! We, indubitably, will not miss her.
