Letter: Who will the U.S. target after Iraq?
Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006 | 8:03 a.m.
I have been doing some thinking about this whole Iraq war and why we are there and what we are trying to accomplish. From what I can deduce, the reasons given us by President Bush and company are the following:
These are the reasons why our military is asked to sacrifice for our sakes. As a former military officer, I am quite aware of these calls of duty and at one time of my life was willing to lay down my life for this great country.
Here is the question I now have: After we have finished the job in Iraq and set up a working government, why don't we go ahead and invade Iran next? Change the names of the characters and the justifications pretty much stay the same, don't they? How about then we take on North Korea?
If the reasons we have been given for going to war are valid for one, why not for the whole world?
Scary thought, isn't it?
