Letter: Not sold on mass transit in the valley

Regarding the Sun's Dec. 27 editorial, "All aboard mass transit":

Why would I walk in the desert heat and wait for a bus or train to take me to the Strip or anywhere else? I would have to wait again to get back home.

I grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., and rode the subways all the time. But where I lived there was an underground station about 1/2 block from where I lived. It was much cheaper than driving my car and then having to look for a parking spot.

When they have a system that can take me within a few blocks of anywhere that I want to go, and it is cheaper than using my car, I will ride it.

Obviously, that will never happen, therefore I will continue to drive my car the approximate 2,000 miles per year that I drive. I work at home.
