Letter: If the Queen can take the noise, can’t we?

I just returned from a trip to England where I had the pleasure of visiting Windsor Castle, where Queen Elizabeth II resides for part of the year. I was struck by the constant stream of planes taking off from London Heathrow Airport and flying over the castle.

If Elizabeth II, Queen of the British Isles and Northern Ireland, can tolerate these planes, why should the commoners in Summerlin and northwest Las Vegas complain?

As with the United Kingdom, Las Vegas depends on tourism, and we should tolerate a little discomfort from the noise that planes make.
