You know he wanted to do it. Badly. You know Mayor Oscar Goodman wanted to go into a full-blown, mob mouthpiece-like rant against government misconduct in investigating ... him and the council. But he contained himself Thursday at his weekly news conference and was as genial as ever. He wants the state probe over "so I can make certain decisions," he smiled. Like running for the U.S. Senate, perhaps? And he's not upset. In fact, he had a cordial discussion last weekend with Attorney General George Chanos. Cordial? "As cordial as I can be," he grinned. But doesn't he want to lambaste an out of control government agency? The Cheshire cat returneth. "Not yet," Goodman said.
